What ages is the curriculum designed for?

Curious Kiwis is created for tamariki aged 2.5–5 years. Activities are open-ended, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate for early learners.

What is included in each monthly box?

Each box includes:

• 20 themed lessons (4 activities per day)

• Craft supplies for nearly all activities

• Family newsletters explaining the monthly theme

• Teacher tips, discussion questions, and Te Whāriki links

• Optional add-ons for additional children

Everything arrives ready to use - no planning or shopping required.

Do you include all the supplies?

Yes! The majority of materials are included, including craft supplies, manipulatives, printed cards, and themed pieces.
Families/centres may need only basic items like scissors, crayons, paint or tape. You are also provided a library book list each month for books that align with the lessons.

Are the activities aligned with Te Whāriki?

Absolutely. Every lesson includes clear Te Whāriki links such as:

• Mana Aotūroa – Exploration

• Mana Reo – Communication

• Mana Tangata – Contribution

• Mana Whenua – Belonging

Activities promote creativity, discovery, problem-solving, language development, and cultural understanding.

Subscription & Billing

​

How does the subscription work?

Subscriptions renew monthly and automatically charge on the same date each month. Each month focuses on a new theme (e.g., Under the Sea, Growing in the Garden, Rainbows, etc.).

Can I change my subscription tier?

Yes! You can update the number of children or switch tiers at any time.
Changes made 30 days before your next shipping date apply to the upcoming box.
Changes made afterward apply to the following month.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, we just require a 30-day cancellation notice.
Because each box is prepared throughout the month and personalised per child, cancellations made within 30 days of billing will take effect the following month.

Do you offer refunds?

No. Because each box is custom-prepared for your child or centre, we cannot offer refunds, returns, or exchanges.
If anything arrives damaged or missing, we will replace those items.

Shipping & Delivery

When will my box arrive?

Boxes are shipped monthly based on our production schedule. Delivery times vary depending on courier service and location.

Do you ship throughout New Zealand?

Yes! We ship nationwide.

​

What if my box arrives damaged?

Contact us right away and we’ll happily replace any damaged or missing materials.

Using the Curriculum

How much time do daily activities take?

Each day includes 4 play-based activities, typically taking 20–45 minutes depending on the child’s interest and involvement.

​

Do I need to be a teacher to use the curriculum?

Not at all. Everything is written in clear, simple steps with photos, tips, discovery questions, and explanations of learning outcomes.

Can daycares or ECE centres use Curious Kiwis?

Yes! Many centres choose Curious Kiwis because:

• No planning is required

• No extra shopping is needed

• Staff can focus on interacting with children

• Family newsletters and daily update cards are included

• Multiple-child boxes are available

Absolutely. Lessons naturally integrate Māori concepts like:

• Kaitiakitanga (guardianship)

• Whanaungatanga (relationships)

• Manaakitanga (care and respect)

• Te Ao Māori story connections

• Te Whāriki strands woven throughout

Multiple Children

Do you offer sibling or classroom boxes?

Yes. You can choose boxes for 1 to 25 children, with larger tiers offering better savings.

​

Can I mix age groups?

Yes! Activities include modifications for younger and older learners, making it easy to adapt in mixed-age settings.
